2010: The Triangle Community Coalition hosted a luncheon to
discuss "Building our Schools & Educating Our Kids: Should
the School Board do Both?" on February 9, 2010. The
program featured Wake County Commissioners Paul Coble, Lindy
Brown & Betty
Lou
Ward and Wake County School Board Members, Chairman Ron
Margiotta, Kevin Hill and John Tedesco discussing whether
the County could help build schools. The panel also
addressed these questions: “How do we make the transfer of
responsibility from the school board to the County; and
whatever happened to public/private partnerships as a tool
to help build schools?”

Aug 2005: School Overcrowding Big Issue
with Voters
This year’s TCC poll took place in July, as we surveyed 400 likely
voters in Raleigh and Wake County. According to the results, the top
issue facing the community is school overcrowding. Likewise, voters
said they want elected leaders make fixing the school overcrowding
problem a top priority. The TCC also asked voters about the recent
eminent domain case (whereby local governments can take property for
economic development purposes) decided by the US Supreme Court.
Approximately 80% of the voters we polled oppose the use of eminent
domain for economic development purposes. For more information call
Chris Sinclair at email or 919-654-5418.
